Abstract

Teamworking is a crucial element of the skill set required to ensure best outcomes for children and young people in care. This guidance was developed to assist staff at residential child care settings to develop their team working skills. It provides a comprehensive overview of the factors, skills and commitment required to develop an effective team. The document is in five parts. Part one provides background information on the development of the guidance. Part two covers theory and good practice issues relating to teamwork and leadership. Part three consists of training modules to support the development of effective teamwork. Part four is an action plan booklet. Part five provides further background information on teamwork and leadership.
