Biography:

Robert attended Bristol Grammar School, studied Music at Bath College and then postgraduate composition at Nottingham University studying with composer Nicholas Sackman and gaining a doctorate in 1994. Prior to starting at York St John University in 2007, Robert was Assistant Head of Music at Leeds College of Music.

Qualifications:

Robert's research into collaborative practices currently focuses on the notion of popular music as multiplicity where a distributed model of collaboration (Vera John-Steiner) is viewed alongside other models of the One and the Many from Plato to Deleuze and Guattari.
