Biography:

Until January 2019 I was the senior consultant clinical psychologist and head of service at the Retreat, York. My main involvement and sustenance came from participation in a DBT-informed Therapeutic Community for women with histories of (local service-challenging) self-harm, attachment difficulties and complex trauma. I derived a great sense of achievement from facilitating our "graduate group" and supporting these women to go on to be successful lecturers, service user consultants and conference presenters. I have been a board member of the UKPTS (United Kingdom Psychological Trauma Society)for a number of years, and was the lead author of the published Complex PTSD practice guideline (2017).
