My research interests are in the fields of glaciology and environmental change. I chiefly employ field surveying and remote sensing techniques to investigate glacier dynamics at a range of spatial and temporal scales, with a particular emphasis on changes at lake-terminating ice-margins. Related research interests include the mechanisms and drivers of glacial lake outburst floods, and the application of recent advances in photogrammetry (particularly Structure-from-Motion) and time-lapse photography to detect and quantify geomorphological change. The majority of my research concerns the Greenland Ice Sheet, but an ongoing project is currently monitoring the response of glaciers in Arctic Sweden to recent extreme temperature anomalies and ice-marginal lake formation.
