Rachael’s research centres on the Policing of Honour-Based Abuse crime in the UK. Her specialisms are policing, police organisational culture, domestic abuse and child protection. She has been involved in curriculum design and delivery both in industry and academic environments, organising and delivering joint agency training to improve police operational practices. She obtained SFHEA teaching accreditation in 2022. Rachael became a Greater Manchester Police constable in 1994. She became a detective working across numerous specialisms including CID, Force Intelligence; Major Incident Team specifically gang shootings and domestic murders, child protection and domestic abuse. She worked as a crime trainer. She effected business process reengineering to GMP, specifically managing organisational change to prisoner processing units, intelligence hubs. Prior to pursuing her PhD she was a domestic abuse lead at Oldham.
