Biography:

I am passionate about sports performance, and have established a research profile in biomechanics and sports science. I completed both my undergraduate and masters’ degrees at The Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. I then moved to Australia, and in early 2021 was awarded my PhD from Macquarie University in Sydney. In the UK, prior to joining York St John University as a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science, I have worked as the First Team Sports Scientist for the Newcastle Falcons in Premiership Rugby, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher in sports related concussion at Durham University.

Qualifications:

My PhD research focused on the use of wearable technology such as GPS and inertial measurement units to measure and understand the running demands of professional rugby league match-play, so that this information could better inform practitioners and high-performance staff when making decisions around player load.
