I was appointed as Lecturer in Psychology at the School of Education, Language and Psychology, York St John, in January 2025. Previous to this I was a Teaching Fellow at the Dept. of Psychology, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland; and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College Dublin. In 2022, I graduated with a PhD in Psychology from the University of Limerick for my thesis: 'Homeless Service Users’ Experiences of Empowerment and Actualisation in Homelessness Service Settings.’ I am a community psychologist with an interest in examining complex social problems such as homelessness. I am interested in employing participatory research methods with marginalised populations such as those with mental health issues, and in developing and evaluating empowering programmes for community well-being.
