Dr. Albert D. Piersson is a Senior Lecturer and Course Lead in Diagnostic Radiography, bringing a wealth of experience in clinical practice, academic leadership, and research. I hold a PhD (Diagnostic Imaging) from The National University of Malaysia, MSc (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) from the Anglia Ruskin University, UK, and Diploma (Radiologic Technology) from the University of Ghana. He investigated the structural and functional brain alterations in Alzheimer's disease using multimodal magnetic resonance imaging for his PhD. Dr. Piersson is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AdvanceHE), reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development, excellence in teaching, and the support of student learning, as well as his dedication to advancing and promoting high-quality education. With a professional background spanning diagnostic radiography, sonography, computed tomography, echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, 12-lead electrocardiography, and advanced neuroimaging, he has contributed to the development of diagnostic imaging education and practice Ghana, Malaysia, and the UK. In his academic role, he leads curriculum design and programme development, support student learning through mentorship and supervision, and foster innovation in teaching and assessment.
