Biography:
I am a political sociologist and gender scholar with interests in feminist theory and politics, the body and violence, and racial capitalism. My key focus is sexual violence, and I have been working on this subject for twenty years. I have approached it from many angles: theoretical, empirical, and as an activist. My theoretical work centres on the role of sexual violence in capitalist economic formations, from a political economy and abolitionist perspective. My empirical and impact work focuses on: (1) neoliberalism and sexual violence in universities and other institutions; and (2) supporting feminist activists and organisations to divest from the carceral state and become more intersectional and inclusive.
