I am an Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence at York St John University, UK, with over two decades of academic experience. My research focuses on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, with applications across healthcare, biological sciences, education, and agriculture. I attract funding through projects supported by Innovate UK, the British Heart Foundation, and major industry partners including Bentley Motors, TMT First, London Stone, and GivEducation. My work bridges academic research and practical innovation, delivering measurable impact for business, education, and society. I have held several leadership and organisational roles in higher education, including Interim Head of School, Director of Education, and Programme Director. I have led the design and development of numerous university programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels, including Computer Science and Data Science degrees, a Degree Apprenticeship, and Online Programmes. Having taught more than 1,500 students across a range of modules and supervised (internally and externally) over 15 PhD candidates, I am passionate about teaching excellence and technology-enhanced learning. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), I am committed to advancing inclusive, research-informed, and impactful education. My professional goal is to continue fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange between academia and industry to drive meaningful innovation and societal impact.
