I am a public health academic and medical doctor with experience spanning higher education, health research, and health systems strengthening in both the UK and Nepal. My academic background includes an MBBS, an MSc in International Social Welfare and Health Policy, and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Huddersfield, where my doctoral research explored the formulation and evaluation of non-communicable disease policy in Nepal. I teach postgraduate programmes in Public Health. I am passionate about creating inclusive, engaging, and research-informed learning environments to support student success. I have supervised master's dissertations and contributed to teaching, assessment, and curriculum delivery across a range of public health and healthcare-related modules. My research interests focus on public health policy, health systems, evidence-informed policymaking, programme evaluation, and global health. I have worked on a variety of funded research projects, including studies on health policy, ageing, social isolation, visual impairment, and digital health interventions. My work combines qualitative research, evidence synthesis, and policy analysis, with the aim of generating practical evidence that informs health improvement and decision-making. I am committed to advancing public health through high-quality teaching, collaborative research, and partnerships that strengthen health systems and improve population health outcomes.
