I became a full-time lecturer in physiotherapy in 2003, when I came to York St John. I teach across both the BHSc and MSc (pre-registration) physiotherapy programmes, and also post-graduate modules. My main research interests lie in neurology and, in particular, stroke. Before moving into lecturing I was a clinical team leader in neurosciences in a large hospital trust, leading a team in stroke rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation, neurology, neurosurgery, neuro-surgical intensive care, and spinal injuries. Prior to this I held a variety of senior physiotherapy positions, including wheelchairs and special seating, stroke rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, elderly care and musculoskeletal out-patients.
