Andrew (Andy) is a Senior Lecturer in Counselling Coaching and Mentoring, a practicing coach and counsellor. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He teaches on the BA in Counselling Coaching and Mentoring, the Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and has previously taught on the MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy at York St John University. He is one of the architects of the new ground-breaking degree in Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring. He is also involved in developing coaching courses in a cross-faculty context at York St John.

He is undertaking PhD research into the construction of coaches' professional personas. He has an interest in the interface between performance forms and therapy. He has recently completed an MSc in Coaching Psychology, where his research is focused on the adaptation of therapy models for use in coaching. He is a member of a semi-professional theatre company; Playback York which performs Playback Theatre in diverse settings, (e.g. mental health conferences, medical professionals training events).
