'Variations on a Post Industrial Landscape'. [Triptych] Artists Responding To ... Magazine. Contemporary Art Culture & Activism.
[Portfolio]
Abstract
Images published in Artists Responding to Magazine. Triptych of colour photographic images which explore the coastal region of Lynemouth, was once home to coal mining before the mine was decommissioned over 30 years ago. These large format landscape photographs position the site as evidence of Britain’s industrial legacy as well as a visible indicator of the effects of industrial production and the careless disposal of domestic plastics. Through coastal erosion, landfill has slowly resurfaced becoming an integrated element in the geological structure of the landscape highlighting concerns about the environment and global warming.
