Abstract:

Do Not Feed the Crowd is a performative reflection on the trauma and resilience shaped by Sri Lanka’s civil war. Drawing on lived experiences of conflict, displacement, and survival, the piece journeys from the chaos of wartime streets to the suspended uncertainty of refugee camps. Through movement, gesture, and poetic imagery, it explores how fear, hope, and identity intertwine in the fragile space between loss and rebuilding. Recreated from personal memories, the performance invites audiences to witness the emotional landscapes of those who endure conflict, offering both a testament to human endurance and a call for compassion.
