Dr Ruth Windscheffel joined York St John in May 2022. She has worked in a wide range of UK Higher Education institutions across three decades, undertaking a variety of roles teaching, researching and managing both staff and specific aspects of teaching and learning. Ruth's 'home' discipline is History and she has published widely in the fields of Modern British History, Victorian Studies, Nineteenth-Century Theology and Religion, and the History of Books and Reading. Ruth's work began to branch out into the broad field of Learning and Development in 2011 and, immediately prior to joining YSJ, was Senior Lecturer in Educational Development at City, University of London. Her particular areas of educational and pedagogic interest lie in inclusive education and practice, assessment and feedback and personal academic tutoring. She is on the advisory panel of UK Advising and Tutoring (UKAT) and co-founder and co-chair of the Cathedrals Universities Learning and Teaching network.
