Abstract
This chapter introduces the reader to place-responsive pedagogy within outdoor learning (OL). Place is conceptualised around ideas of connection, supporting readers to reconsider and deepen understanding around this term. A socio-cultural perspective of place intensifies the notion of place-responsive pedagogy and supports teachers’ planning for outdoor experiences. Readers are invited to reflect on their own experiences of place in order to position themselves within a place-responsive pedagogical philosophy.
