Abstract: | cases of sudden conversion (45’, poetry and live electronics), combines field recordings gathered in India with electronics, viola and body percussion, new literary translations of ancient Sanskrit tantric verse, and newly-composed poems. It emerged from a research trip to India undertaken by Kimberly Campanello and University of York postdoctoral researcher Jon Hughes in order engage with a wide range of tantric and yogic contexts, both contemporary and historical, whilst gathering elements of the sonic and textual landscape. It premiered at public event sponsored by the Modern Yoga Research Group/Jagiellonian University conference ‘Yoga darśana, yoga sādhana: traditions, transmissions, transformations conference’ in Kraków in May 2016. |
