Abstract

This research describes a new method to quantify external mechanical load during professional rugby league match play. Positional differences during match play are also explored. Outside backs and hit-up forwards spend the majority of match play in low intensity activity, however, outside backs tend to spend more time at high intensity than hit-up forwards.
