Biography:

Ben Burrows is Senior Lecturer in Creative Industries & Technologies and Course Leader for Music Production programmes at York St John University. He has over twenty years’ experience teaching and leading a range of subjects in the creative industries, including music composition, music production, film music and the soundtrack for film, television, games and new media. In addition to his academic responsibilities, he is a composer and music producer. He was recently commissioned to compose a new score for the restored silent film ‘Helen of Four Gates’ produced by Cecil M. Hepworth in 1920. The music was performed by the Treske Ensemble to a screening of the film at the Hebden Bridge Picture House as part of their centenary celebrations in June 2022.
